Fine Italian cuisine has not been lost in San Antonio. Located along the River Walk, Michelino's offers the taste of Italy's finest country cooking. Flavorful sauces compliment Italian pasta, pizza and other specialties made from the freshest veal, poultry, beef and seafood. Enjoy focaccia bread before your meal and tantalizing desserts after your meal. There is a fine, yet affordable, wine list. This restaurant can seat approximately 200 inside and on the porch affording you a lovely view of the river. Menus range from $7 to $16.
An "Antipasti" I especially enjoyed was "Mushrooms Michelino," a succulent baked mushroom stuffed with seafood and parmesan & ricotta cheeses. Their "Grilled Portabella Mushroom" is another delight, marinated and grilled, garnished with diced roma tomatoes, garlic and fresh basil. Soups and salads are large. The "Milanese-Style Chicken Parmesan" was delightful. The lightly breaded Milanese-style chicken breast is topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese, then served atop a bed of linguine. The strawberry-topped cheesecake portion is not only wonderful for the taste buds but large enough for two. A children's menu is also offered.
